What is Alkalizing All About?
Simply
put, it is the term used to describe the science of balancing the
over-acidification of the body, which can contribute to the onset of
disease. When the body is in healthy alkaline balance, germs are less
likely to get a foothold. The pH level (the acid-alkaline measurement)
of our internal fluids affects every cell in our bodies. It is measured
on a scale of 0 to 14. The lower the pH the more acidic the solution,
the higher the pH the more alkaline. Many Americans consume a majority
of acid forming foods every day.
Commercial
foods are acid foods. Acid
foods are addictive, causing over-eating and weight management problems.
Whole natural foods almost always have a balanced alkaline pH.
Live people need live, whole, alkaline, green food.
If our internal environment begins to turn
acidic (pH below 7.2) it becomes a nesting ground for morbid microforms
like yeast, fungus, or molds. Some of our bodies can put up with a lot
of abuse. Our bodies, as resilient and powerful as they are, will over
time become less able to cope with acidic waste, slowly building more
imbalances until there is an inevitable disturbing or debilitating
health crisis. A chronically over-acidic pH corrodes body tissue,
slowly eating into the 60,000 miles of veins and arteries. If left
unchecked, it can interrupt all cellular activities and functions, from
the beating of your heart to the neural firing of your brain.
Our body uses minerals on hand to
neutralize these acids to a point where it can safely handle and
eliminate them. Alkalizing minerals are sodium, potassium, magnesium and
calcium. When there aren’t
enough of these minerals on hand our body takes them from our bones and
teeth.
Our metabolism is designed to get rid of acid wastes -
through the skin, the kidneys, the liver and even the breath.
Our body in its magnificence is an
organism of intelligence.
Every breath we take is a process of breaking down acid waste and
releasing it as CO2.
By maintaining a proper ph through
conscious care we assist our body in its function and desire for life.
